Thinking of Flowers

A dear friend of mine, A, has been going through some very rough times for the last ten months.  I haven't seen much of her but that doesn't mean I haven't been thinking of her a lot.  When I finally had a chance to to see her, I made her this card.  Not a fancy card, but enough to tell her that I've been thinking about her.  The flowers represent her family, which I thought was quite cute.  I hope things will start looking up for her and her family because they definitely deserve it.

A Grey Birthday (Card)

No birthdays should be grey, but that doesn't mean birthday cards can't be.  I'm beginning to love muted designs with a pop of colour.  It's just as eye-catching as a card full of colour.

Today is my birthday - maybe I'll save the card for myself :)

An Everyday Card

Sometimes I just want to make a "simple" card just because (though nothing is really simple, right?)  I didn't have anyone in mind when I made this card, nor an occasion, but this design is versatile enough I could add a sentiment on the inside once I figure out what it will be used for.  Notice that the three panels were really from the same image?

The World Got A Present The Day You Were Born

At last week's crafting get-together with W and B, the three of us shared our supplies (namely stamps!) so that we could make cards that we otherwise won't be able to make.  I couldn't pass up on the opportunity to borrow W's Mixed Bunch and B's Papillon Pot Pourri stamp sets.  Coupled with some of my supplies (Fancy Fan Embossing Folder and the old Priceless stamp set), I put together this light cheery card.  The sentiment is from the old Happiest Birthday Wishes set.

Flowers, anyone?

My bff wanted a card for her mother-in-law who's turning 60 this year.  She loves to garden so I hope she'll like this floral card.  I used the Stampin' Up Reason to Smile stamp set and coloured in the flowers with ink and a Blender Pen.

Mellow Floral Card

Here is a card I cased with a new but retired stamp set that I recently purchased.  Flowers can be used for so many occasions but in this case I made it into a birthday card.  When I get my Stampin Up ink pads I will be able to produce images that are more crisp, but in the meantime I'm still very happy with this card.  My apologies for the (consistently) poor quality of photos.  Maybe an SLR will actually help with my poor photography skills!

Mother's Day Cards

In anticipation of Mother's Day this Sunday, I wanted to share a few simple cards I made for this occasion.

For B's mother-in-law:

And lastly, one that could work for birthday or a just because card for a dessert lover, but in this case, I stamped the inside with "Happy Mother's Day".

"Traditional" Mother's Day cards

I admit I've slacked off in posting but I certainly haven't slacked in my card and jewelry making.

Here's a floral Mother's Day card fit for a more "traditional" mom, or one that likes flowers! To counteract the busy design, I've left the interior blank, but we could always add something there too if you'd like.

Another girly design I've put together is actually quite versatile - it could easily be used as a wedding card, birthday card, you name it. I've left space on the front of the card to write the recipient's name, and the inside says "Happy Mother's Day" in Chinese.

Porcelain flower earrings

These earrings are made with the same porcelain flower as in this bracelet, but smaller. I just love the flower!

Porcelain flower crystal bracelet

I've been sick for the past two days and didn't feel like moving. What better activity than to make some jewelry? Little did I know that things take three times as long when you're sick.

Here's a sparkly crystal bracelet mostly in clear but also with pink and grey accents. The main focus of course is the white porcelain flower. The first two pictures are a bit washed out, but you can see the colours better in the last picture.

I also made a pair of matching earrings, but with darker pink crystals so they stand out.

Floral chain bracelet

This bracelet was made at someone's request for a "non-girly" bracelet. I can't say that it is non-girly, but I still liked the way it turned out. I might even make one for myself, although the Swarovski flower was a pain to make. I double chained the bracelet to make it look less skimpy, and added some bicones throughout the bracelet so it is not so boring. Lastly, the clasp was carefully chosen to be a flower as well, in keeping with the theme.
