I had a special request from J to make a wedding card with two puffins on it. J even sent me pictures of puffins she wanted on her card. As most of my Cricut-made cards are on the cute side, I wanted to incorporate a touch of elegance by using a purple card base and a purple damask-like patterned paper. It's the first time I bought a pack of non-colourful, kiddish paper and it sure came in handy. J was thrilled with the card, and I'm so pleased!
Thank you for visiting my blog. Here you'll find some of the creations I've made for fun, for friends, and for sale. Hope you like them!

Let Patterned Paper Do All the Work
When you're making many cards, for occasions such as Christmas, you need to get the most number of cards out of the least amount of work. That's why you've probably noticed that many of the Christmas cards I've featured uses colourful patterened paper as the background. Can you imagine the following card with a plain white background? Not me. And by using traditional Christmas colours, you're sure that everyone will come together in the end.
By the way, do you recognize the shape that is cut out from "Joy"? I re-used them assnow decoration in the Rudolph cards.

I Never Had a Stocking
But how sweet it would be to start that tradition with our family. In the meantime, a stocking Christmas card will just have to do.
Once again, I let patterened paper do all the work here:

Rudolph Comes to Town
Isn't this the most adorable reindeer you've seen? The reindeer card is definitely a close second to the Santa card in my books, so you bet I used it on more than one card!
Here's one version using Christmas themed patterned paper:
Here's Rudolph playing in the snow. It's not the first time I simply teared embossed white paper to mimic snow.

From the Both of Us
Simple yet so versatile, you can easily change the number of penguins (or another animal) to reflect the number of people the card is from. In this case, the card was from my husband and I. Maybe I should have made one penguin bigger than the other but the two identical penguins look utterly adorable as is!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town
Who wouldn't love a visit from Santa during Christmas? This is the perfect card if you like cute designs. I made this for my mother-in-law last Christmas to give to relatives but she liked it so much she decided to keep the card for herself! All she had to do was ask me to give her another one, as I had made two version of Santa...

Christmas is Just Around the Corner!
If you're someone who likes to send out Christmas cards, then it's certainly not too late to think about making them! That way you can nibble at a few a week and have them all done well in advance. I have to admit I seldom give out Christmas cards (or any cards, for that matter!) But I'm working on that. Afterall, it gives me an excuse reason to keep making cards.
Over the next little while I'm going to share some Christmas card ideas. While many of these were made with the Cricut machine, I'll try to throw in some stamped cards as well, for those of you who prefer something a little less "labour intensive".

Mistletoe and ribbon - but you could easily replace the mistletoe with a stamp or a tag.

Birthday Bee!
E's boyfriend celebrated his birthday over the weekend. Since his nickname is "Bee", E requested a card with a bee on it. I couldn't help but create the cute little card below. I hope he didn't find it overly childish, cuz I know I wouldn't!

Birthday Wonderland
Need a birthday card for a child who loves to go to amusement parks? This would be a great one, though I actually made this for an adult! Well, he was celebrating his birthday at Wonderland, so I thought it would be fitting. I love all the Cricut Decals people, even though they look incredibly kiddish!

Thanks Shelley
Today I want to share a thank you card for my Stampin' Up demonstrator and now mentor, Shelley. She's an awesome, patient demonstrator who has answered every single question I've asked her with a smile. She doesn't have a Cricut, so naturally that's what I used to make her a thank you card. Afterall, I couldn't possibly give her something using my limited stamping supplies (and skills!). I hope she likes it!

Father's Day Card
Father's Day is coming up and for once I'm ahead of schedule! I'll be mailing a card overseas and it might actually make it on time this year (though I shouldn't jinx myself).
Here's a simple Father's Day card I made using the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge. It was simple enough to make, though I haven't figured out how to perfect cutting out the details like the faces on the text yet. Next time, I'll just eliminate those features using the Gypsy.
Enjoy!

Imitation Cricut Decals Card
I made another card using this image previously, but I had to use it again for my sister-in-law who had purchased a new TREK bike shortly before her birthday last year. I don't have the Cricut Decals cartridge (which is where I think it's from), so I traced an image I found online and cut it with a software. Though simple, she loved the card.

A Catty Birthday
W's coworker is a cat-lover, so we couldn't pass up the opportunity to feature a cat on her birthday card this year! I hope you can see the cuteness of the card beyond the dim lighting. If you're reading this, J, I hope you liked it just as much as W did :)

Another (late) Mother's Day Card
I received a request to make this Mother's Day card. The Russian dolls here worked perfectly as they are a family of 5. I have to admit that tracing and cutting small details were a pain but I know W was happy with the result, so it was all worth it.
Here was the original picture she sent me (sorry I don't know who to credit):
This is the card I made:
And since she wanted the same phrase on her card, I couldn't forget the "With Love!"

Horse lover, anyone?
Do you have a horse lover in your life? Or a (horse) race track lover? If so, they might appreciate this card, as my father-in-law did!

Wedding Bells
...on multiple layers of paper, with some embossing and glitter. I wish I had the patience to use glitter more often. I just don't like having to wait for the glitter to dry, apply a sealer on top, and wait again. If anyone has a suggestion, please let me know. In the meantime, I'll have to "pre-make" some glittered items if I want to use them in my cards.

Just Because...
I used this card as kind of a birthday card, but technically, it could be used for anything. Did I already mention I like adding depth to my cards?
I guess I placed my camera too close to the card, so it looks bent. Rest assured that it isn't.
I made this card just for fun, but it quickly got purchased, yay!
Here I put the twine around the ribbon before inserting through the button. I think I like it better this way :)

Congrats C & R!
I can finally share this card that I made for my friends C & R who were married yesterday in sunny Tampa! It's one of my favourite wedding cards and I hope they'll like it too. In retrospect I probably should have used red instead of pink as her theme colour and her dress had a dash of red (see the jewelry I made for her here). But my first instinct is always pink :)
Congrats C & R!

Angry Little Birthday Card
For Tutu, who apparently likes, and looks like the "Angry Little Girl".
Who knew there was such a cartoon?

Cheers!
I was asked to make a wedding card, and the bride is a red wine specialist. Eeek, I couldn't think of anything other than a bottle of wine, a wine glass, and maybe some grapes?
