Shadow wedding card

I love it when I'm asked to make something without any restrictions.  In this case, all T asked for was a wedding card and he was incredibly pleased with this:

This gate card was kept closed with a jacket with the couple's name.
This is what it looks like without the name jacket.
And opened up.

Birdcages

Does anyone know why birdcages are used at weddings?  Because they imply a sense of being trapped after marriage, or because they imply love birds?  I never really knew but used one nonetheless at my own wedding!

But regardless of their real meaning, birdcages are often seen on wedding cards, so I thought I would make my own version of it.

Cupcake craze

I wasn't actually aware that I had made quite a few cupcake style birthday cards.  Here's an 'evolution' of my cupcake cards:

Cupcake shape card.  Cute, and good if you don't have much to write!
A mixture of textured papers, embossing, and ribbon.
Throwing on some embellishments and a contrasting edge.
And this was customised for a friend who loves sweets...
...who *was* on a mission to stay in shape!
 Hope you liked them!

Birthday Pig!

Geez, can someone tell me where the time goes?  It only feels like a couple of weeks since I last posted but the calendar tells me it's been four.

Anyway, I want to share another cute kiddish card which I made for an adult.  I hope she liked it though, and understood why I chose to use a pig for her :)

Birthday Duck!

I initially made this card for an adult as a "fun card" even though I admit it might be more suited for a child.  Low and behold, when I showed this card off, I immediately got a couple of requests for upcoming kids' birthdays.  As always, I try to make each card a little different, and it only gets better :)

For the Shoe-aholic!

If you know me, you're probably thinking this card is for me, but actually I made this card for my sister, who, under my influence, has turned into a bit of a shoe-aholic as well (though she doesn't like to admit).

Lately I've been trying to pay attention to more details in my cards, from lining the envelope, to inking edges, or lining the interior of the card.  I think it really makes the cards look that much better.  And of course, embellishments such as the "bling" on these slingbacks really finish off the look.

Happy 3rd Anniversary

...to my sister and brother-in-law.  My sister placed an order for a "premium package card" (did I have a premium package?!) and no other instructions were given.  Since my nephew loves to go out to the yard to look at birds, I thought I'd make them a card with 3 birds nested on a house (they were looking for a new house at the time).  I'm so glad they love it!

I also made another version of the card using the piece that was cut out from the pink frame.  I think I kinda like the first version better.  What do you think?

Embossed a lot!

Ever since I made my first embossed card, I've been in love with the technique. Here are some more I've made:

Embossed birthday card

I only recently discovered embossing and I'm already in love with it. Such an easy way to really vamp up plain cardstock.

I've only added a small embossed "Happy Birthday" logo on this card and I think that it looks miles fancier than the same card if the middle square were not embossed.

Oooh the possibilities!
