I'm back....again!

I can't believe I've let almost 7 months pass without updating this blog.  If you're still visiting my blog, you're a trooper, cuz you probably visit more than I do!  What must I do in order to make sure I stay on track?

Yesterday I sent off a set consisting of necklace, bracelet and earrings to C for her wedding.  She asked me to make it last year and as you can see I am a procrastinator in all areas - even in my hobbies [blush].

Without further ado, here is her set:

The bracelet that I love...so much so that I made an extra one!

By comparison, the necklace is much simpler, because her wedding gown has thick, red halter straps.

And even simpler earrings...(sorry for the poor lighting)

This is the original version of the necklace.  I like it a lot actually, and I think it'd go well with a strapless dress, but we had to modify it for the halther gown.

Hope you like it, C!

Not my ordinary bracelet

Well, I'd like to think that most of my things are not ordinary but I'd have to say this bracelet is not my ordinary style in any way! I don't use black very often, and hanging such big items are certainly not my style, but I think it turned out great. I'll be saving this piece for non-computer days though!

Flowers are in season!

To add a touch of summer, these bracelets were made with a big flower as the focal point. While I usually use crystals or glass beads, adding a different texture to the mix really livens things up. The white version makes the overall look really elegant and polished, while the purple version is more of a fun look. To compliment it, I've added a touch of black chains to one side to make it asymmetrical. Did I mention I like asymmetry in jewelry?

Crystal meets pearl

I'm not sure how many favourites I'm allowed to have, but this would definitely be one of them.

A perfect match between dark crystals and light pearls that can be worn with both casual and evening wear. The length is perfect to wear long if you have a plain top or to wear doubled up if you're wearing something low.

If you're not a fan of the large contrast and the shiny crystals, what about this slightly toned down version with less shiny and lighter crystals?

Porcelain flower earrings

These earrings are made with the same porcelain flower as in this bracelet, but smaller. I just love the flower!

Did you see the matching bracelet below?

Porcelain flower crystal bracelet

I've been sick for the past two days and didn't feel like moving. What better activity than to make some jewelry? Little did I know that things take three times as long when you're sick.

Here's a sparkly crystal bracelet mostly in clear but also with pink and grey accents. The main focus of course is the white porcelain flower. The first two pictures are a bit washed out, but you can see the colours better in the last picture.

I also made a pair of matching earrings, but with darker pink crystals so they stand out.

Links charm bracelet

If you prefer a more traditional Links look over one that has colour and pearls, this bracelet is for you. The main body of the bracelet is made with silver links, and the ends are finished off with clear crystals and rondelle spacers. I've selected a silver purse bracelet charm for this bracelet but you can use your favourite charm. Oh, did I mention it's only a fraction of the price of the Links bracelet?

Pink crystal hoop earrings

These earrings were made to go with the Irresistable sparkle bracelet. I've used the same large pink crystal with the smaller clear and pink ones up top. If you prefer a simpler version, what about sans smaller crystals?

Pearl bridal bracelet

A combination of clear Swarovski crystals, cream pearls, and mini silver balls creates this traditional yet modern sparkly bracelet fit for a bride.

Orange dangle crystal set

This is another set that I made for one of my bridesmaids. I wanted something that would look good with a low strapless dress while having an "elongating" effect (accomplished by gradually shorter/smaller crystals at the sides).

Irresistable sparkle

I've had many compliments and repeated orders on this sparkly bracelet. The silver and the pink compliment each other so well! If you're not a pink kinda gal, what about gun metal grey or a deep purple?

See the earrings that go with this bracelet.

Turquoise + pink bracelet

This was made for friend as kind of a Christmas present. The turquoise colour gives this bracelet a casual feeling while the crystals add elegance to it. There is a extension at the end, so the bracelet is adjustable and there is a crystal dangling from it. I love the pink teardrop crystals (light and medium pink). They're also the same ones I made the "simple dangling earrings" with.

Happy Birthday, G!

For G's birthday I made this blue + purple crystal bracelet. It's much more sparkly than the pictures suggest, and she loves sparkly!

Variations of the pearl dangling earring

Pearl can be casual and it can be dressy. Here are some examples of simple versions of both. More intricate ones to come!

What I wore to my sister's wedding

The bridesmaid dresses for my sister's wedding were a deep red (not quite burgundy) and I wanted jewelry that would look nice with the red while still looking elegant. Here is what I made:

A tan/gold coloured pearl and crystal necklace. Two shades of pearls were used and the size of the pearls and crystals get progressively smaller towards the back where it's only crystals. I also made a matching bracelet (not pictured).

Teardrop necklace + earring set

Black chain and smokey grey / tan teardrop crystals give this design an elegant look. And that yellow crystal really pops!

Definitely one of my favs!

The solution to plain sweaters

In this freezing, cold, gloomy season I find myself buying a lot of long plain sweaters. I'm not sure if it's because it's so gloomy out that I don't have an urge for fancy clothing or whether I'm just cycling back to "basic clothing". But basic doesn't have to be boring, right?

So my latest addiction is long necklaces. They really do wonders to basic clothing. Here's an example of one that I made for my friend. She's not into fancy jewelry so I've kept it simple with the focal point being the main dangling purple pendant, and added some small embellishments on the chain like a pearl, crystal, leaf, heart, and a flower. Perfect for those who don't like big jewelry.

Crystal flower ring

One of my early creations was this ring: I created the look of a flower with crystals acting as the petals and a pearl or glass ball in the middle. The band of the ring was put together using glass seed beads.

I've made one for my sister in red+pink, and one for my sister-in-law in blue+pink.

Silver and blue necklace + bracelet set

I made this set for my mom some time ago and it's her "go-to" set when she attends parties. Despite having more silver than crystals, it's actually quite sparkly. My pictures don't do it justice.

I've contrasted a darker blue crystal with a light pink (though it almost looks clear in my washed-out photos). I think the colour combination works quite well. Dark purple and light pink would work too, as would greens and yellows, if you would like a less formal, more spring-like look.

Check out the single stranded version below.

Simple dangling earrings

Simple, yet so pretty! Each earring is made of 2 pear-shaped crystal, one light pink and one dark pink. I love that they're pretty enough to wear with dresses yet simple enough to go with jeans. Did I tell you pink is my favourite colour? So you'll be seeing lots of pinks (and purples!)
